Emergency first aid

  • The Emergency First Aid is a one day course designed to train individuals that require appointed person training in basic first aid skills.

  • This course will provide first aid skills necessary to manage a patient that is not breathing normally, is unconscious or is bleeding prior to the arrival of the emergency services.

  • The Emergency First Aid course is designed to meet the recommendations of the HSE Health and Safety at Work (1981) Regulations for Appointed Persons in the Workplace.

  • This course also meets the first aid requirements of the Department for Children, Schools and Families for First Aid in Schools.

  • Students will practice essential skills in small groups and will apply these skills in scenario sessions during the course.

Assessment: Continuous by instructor observation of essential skills.

This includes certification, Successful Completion Card, Emergency Plan and Guidance Card and Wall certificate.

First aid at work

  • The First Aid at Work course is a three-day course designed to train individuals who require HSE approved first aid at work training to meet the requirements of the First Aid at Work (1981) Regulations.

  • This course will provide all the required first aid skills necessary to manage a patient that is not breathing normally, is unconscious, bleeding or is ill or injured prior to the arrival of the emergency services. It also covers other topics such as COSHH, RIDDOR and other first aid health and safety at work information.

  • The First Aid at Work course is designed to meet the requirements of the HSE Health and Safety at Work (1981) Regulations for First Aid in the Workplace.

  • The initial course is delivered over a minimum of 3 days (18 contact hours). The 2 day refresher course covers the complete syllabus and updates any changes to procedures or protocols.

  • This course also meets the first aid requirements of the Department for Children, Schools and Families for First Aid in Schools.

Assessment: Students are assessed throughout the course by instructor observation of the essential skills. There is also a summative assessment of knowledge and skills at the end of this course.

Certification, Successful Completion Card, Emergency Plan and Guidance Card and Wall certificate.

Paediatric first aid

  • The Paediatric First Aid course is a two-day course designed to train individuals to provide immediate first aid care for infants and children. This course also includes adult essential skills in basic life support as they differ from the skills of the infant and child.

  • This course meets the first aid requirements of Ofsted for the Early Years Foundation Stage standards, the National Childminding Association, the Pre-School Learning Alliance, and the Department for Children, Schools and Families Sure start guidelines for Paediatric First Aid.

  • This course will provide first aid skills necessary to manage an infant or child that is not breathing normally, is unconscious, bleeding or is ill or injured prior to the arrival of the emergency services.

  • The Paediatric First Aid course which includes adult basic life support skills also meets the recommendations of the HSE Health and Safety at Work (1981) Regulations for Appointed Persons in the Workplace. This course also meets the first aid requirements of the Department for Children, Schools and Families for First Aid in Schools.
